The best thing about the Peak District is that it offers a range of activities and attractions for children of all ages.
As a mum of two beautiful girls 6 years and 11 months there isnt much we havent tried in the peak district, So whether you’re looking for outdoor adventures, cultural experiences, or just a fun day out, there’s something for everyone in the Peak District.

1.Visit the Heights of Abraham
Located in the village of Matlock Bath, the Heights of Abraham is a theme park with a difference. It’s built on top of an old lead mining site, and visitors can explore a network of caverns and tunnels that were once used by miners. The park also offers a range of outdoor activities, such as rock climbing, a nature trail, and a cable car ride that takes you over the gorge and gives you breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. https://www.heightsofabraham.com/
2. Go on a hike or a bike ride
The Peak District is home to some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK, and there are countless trails to explore on foot or by bike. Whether you’re looking for a leisurely stroll or a more challenging hike, there’s something for everyone in the Peak District. Children will love the opportunity to get out into nature and explore the great outdoors, and the fresh air and exercise will do them good. 3. A must see is Chatsworth House
This stunning stately home is located in the heart of the Peak District, and it’s the perfect place for a family day out. Children will love exploring the beautiful gardens and the farmyard, and there are also adventure playgrounds to keep them entertained. Inside the house, you’ll find a range of art and historical artifacts, including furniture, paintings, and sculptures. 4. Gulliver’s Kingdom
Located in the village of Matlock Bath, Gulliver’s Kingdom is a theme park that’s perfect for younger children. It has a range of rides and attractions, including a water park, a dinosaur-themed play area, and a miniature railway. There are also plenty of food and drink options on site, so you can make a day of it. 5. The Caverns
The Peak District is the home to some of the world famous Caverns, Speedwell where you can take a boat ride, Treak Cavern, Blue John, Peak Cavern where they host many music gigs and events, these 4 caverns are based in Castleton and Pooles Cavern based in Buxton.
