Two of the more scenic towns are Castleton and Hathersage, where you could explore a variety of local stores, bars, and restaurants. Why not visit some of the beautiful Blue John shops in Castleton, or even take a visit to the historic caves.
Both towns have some amazing treats in store for you. Hathersage is even home to one of the top 10 lidos in the UK.
Here you can spend the day strolling hand-in-hand through the gorgeous lanes and quaint streets, pausing for refreshments at a neighbourhood bakery or café.
It doesn’t stop there
A weekend in the Peak District is often not long enough. This just means you can keep going back again and again.
Here are some more things to add to your list of things to do.
I highly recommend taking a drive across the Peak District for a more picturesque excursion. There are numerous sites worth seeing, including Haddon Hall, the Monsal Head viaduct, and Chatsworth House.
These famous spots offer beautiful vistas and make the ideal setting for a loving photo shoot. You can also hire bikes at the Monsal Trail too.
Romantic evening
You may take in some astronomy as dusk falls in one of the Peak District’s dark sky locations. Since there is little light pollution in these unique places, it is simple to see the stars and planets in all their splendour.
Bring a blanket and some refreshments, and spend the evening cuddling while admiring the stars.
Of course, a special dinner together is a must-have for any romantic holiday. There are several inviting country inns and eateries to select from in the Peak District, including the Peacock in Rowsley, The Royal Oak at Hurdlow and the Grouse and Claret in Hathersage. These quaint restaurants offer wonderful, regional cuisine in a welcoming environment.
