Look no further… than The Peak District

For couples seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, the Peak District is a stunning and romantic location. This gorgeous area, which is located in the centre of England, is home to rolling hills, charming villages, and breath taking vistas that are ideal for a romantic break.

Most romantic things

A leisurely trek in the countryside is one of the most romantic things to do in the Peak District. The Peak District is a hiker’s paradise with more than 500 miles of public pathways and trails. Now, this could be a leisurely stroll in the woods or a strenuous climb to the summit of a mountain.  We recommend you select a route that meets your fitness level and interests, have a look here. The Peak District is the ideal opportunity to get in touch with nature.  But, most importantly, with one another.  The reason I say this is you will find yourselves stopping along the way to take in the scenery and phenomenal views.

Not just hiking

  There are many wonderful places to discover in the Peak District.  It is definitely a place to visit, to give you prefer a slower pace. Two of the more scenic towns are Castleton and Hathersage, where you could explore a variety of local stores, bars, and restaurants.  Why not visit some of the beautiful Blue John shops in Castleton, or even take a visit to the historic caves. Both towns have some amazing treats in store for you.  Hathersage is even home to one of the top 10 lidos in the UK. Here you can spend the day strolling hand-in-hand through the gorgeous lanes and quaint streets, pausing for refreshments at a neighbourhood bakery or café.

It doesn’t stop there

A weekend in the Peak District is often not long enough.  This just means you can keep going back again and again. Here are some more things to add to your list of things to do. I highly recommend taking a drive across the Peak District for a more picturesque excursion. There are numerous sites worth seeing, including Haddon Hall, the Monsal Head viaduct, and Chatsworth House. These famous spots offer beautiful vistas and make the ideal setting for a loving photo shoot.  You can also hire bikes at the  Monsal Trail too.

Romantic evening

You may take in some astronomy as dusk falls in one of the Peak District’s dark sky locations. Since there is little light pollution in these unique places, it is simple to see the stars and planets in all their splendour. Bring a blanket and some refreshments, and spend the evening cuddling while admiring the stars. Of course, a special dinner together is a must-have for any romantic holiday.  There are several inviting country inns and eateries to select from in the Peak District, including the Peacock in Rowsley, The Royal Oak at Hurdlow and the Grouse and Claret in Hathersage. These quaint restaurants offer wonderful, regional cuisine in a welcoming environment.

Going above and beyond

Consider scheduling a hot air balloon flight above the Peak District for a genuinely one-of-a-kind and unforgettable experience. This will help you to enjoy a bird’s-eye perspective of the breath taking scenery below as you float softly above the undulating hills and valleys.  How idyllic does this sound?
