Our Peak District Activity Recommendations
Activities in the Peak District are one of the main reason thousands of visitors come to the Peak District every year, and why not!
In Derbyshire we have so many activities to choose from and there’s always something wonderful to do.
What do I mean?
Ok, whether you like adrenaline sports or something more sedate, the Peak District has so many places to go and things to do it’s for the adventurer, the rambler, the cyclist and the walker.
There are places to go that will keep the children entertained and also keep them dry in wet weather.
The Peak District has such a varied landscape that whatever activity you fancy, there is more than likely a place or business that will help you get the most out of your visit to the area.
There are activities in the Peak District for those of you with pets and for those without.
What can you do?
There are many places that offer cycle hire, so you don’t have to bring your bikes with you and there are levels of difficulty from miles of flat trails to rugged hills and peaks.
Great places to eat and drink, where you can go out for the day or to relax and unwind.
The Peak District is wonderful for all sorts of abilities and all age ranges. I would like to share just a few ideas with you
Abseiling
If you’re an adrenaline junkie and you think clambering down huge gritstone edges are the thing to do, then Peak District abseiling could be something you should consider. The Peak District abseiling is about the controlled descent of any kind, using a rope.
Blue Mountain Activities is somewhere we would recommend to get a guide to be able to do abseiling, along with numerous other activities. Such as: Rock Scrambling, Rock Climbing, Abseiling, Open Canoeing, Kayaking, Raft Building, Gorge Scrambling, Caving, Mine Exploration and Orienteering.
Horse Riding
There is also horse riding, where you can take in the countryside.
To see the Peaks in all their glory is to ride high and smell the country air, with views and country lanes to take your breath away.
Why not try something new and horse ride in the Peaks. If you are staying in Buxton, it has it’s very own
riding school.
Kayaking
Kayaking in the Peak District is a wonderful way to get fit and take advantage of our wonderful rivers and gorges.
Of course there are many reservoirs too.
Whether you’re a novice or experienced there are several places to learn and hone your skill. This is another one for
Blue Mountain Activities.
So much more…
